Robin Joseph-Williams, AICP

Consultant

Robin Joseph-Williams is a facilitator and community engagement professional with over 20 years of experience in community collaboration and consensus building in the public and non-profit sectors. With her background in urban and regional planning, communications, and public policy, Robin has a multitude of experience developing strategies for reaching desired outcomes for clients interested in improving the quality of life in their communities, and uplifting neighborhoods in need.

Experience

Robin has written policy, led successful market analysis, created, and implemented communication and public involvement programs for various planning studies, alternatives analyses studies, environmental assessments and more for multimillion-dollar infrastructure projects. In addition to her planning certification through the American Institute of Certified Planners, she is LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified for building design and construction (BD+C). Robin is active in the America Planning Association and a member of the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2).

Having experience in the private sector, Robin established her own firm, J. Williams Group, LLC., which assists others in moving their projects forward – be it new construction, revitalization, strategic initiative, policy planning, public education, transportation, or infrastructure. She ensures everyone has a seat at the table and strives to create harmony even amongst the most discordant groups.

 

Community Involvement

Along with her facilitation certification, Robin also trains others in facilitative skills and leadership. She has led strategic plans and workshops for numerous nonprofits, coached and mentored individual nonprofit volunteers and leaders, and managed many teams in her capacity as a servant leader in the community.

Community services continues to be one of Robin’s passions having served on the Boards of the Junior League of Collin County, Habitat for Humanity Collin County, Young Men’s Service League, the Sci-Tech Discovery Centre, Plano Independent School District Education Foundation, and numerous others.

Robin is a graduate of Leadership Plano Class 22, and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated.

 

Educational Background

Robin has a B.A. in Political Science from UCLA, and a M.A. in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She resides in the Dallas area with her family.
